MINI Cooper Hardtop speaker upgrade
The earlier MINI Cooper hardtops take common sizes, including 6x9s in the rear side panels. Cooper hardtops from 2006 to 2013 take 6.5 to 6.75-inch speakers in the front doors and 6x9-inch speakers in the rear side panels; 2014 and newer need a check at the shop. We have verified sizes for 2 of 7 year ranges or trims in our table; anything not verified says "Confirm fit at the shop".

It depends on the year. Some we have verified: 2007–2013: 6.5" or 6-3/4" in the front doors, 6x9" in the rear side panels; 2006: 6.5" or 6-3/4" in the front doors, 6x9" in the rear side panels. Any other spot or year: confirm fit at the shop.
Do I need a new radio or an amp to upgrade the speakers?
Not always. New speakers can run off the factory radio. Some factory premium systems use an amp that needs an interface; we check your trim before you buy.
