Ford Focus speaker upgrade

The Focus is a common first car, and a speaker swap is an affordable upgrade. Focus models through 2011 use 6x8 speakers, and 2012 to 2018 cars move to 6.5-inch speakers front and rear. We have verified sizes for 4 of 4 year ranges or trims in our table; anything not verified says "Confirm fit at the shop".

  • 2012–2018 · without 8-inch touchscreen: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 95-5871B (DDIN, 2012-2018); 99-5827B (2012-2014 without MyFord Touch); 99-5843B (2015-2018 with 4.2in screen).
  • 2008–2011: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 99-5816 (DIN/ISO DIN/ISO DDIN).
  • 2005–2007: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 95-5812 (ISO DDIN); single-DIN 99-5808/99-5815.
  • 2000–2004: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 95-5806 (double-DIN); single-DIN 99-5806.

If the new speaker is a different size or deeper than the factory one, it can need an adapter bracket. We check with your car in front of us before we start.

What size speakers fit the Ford Focus?

It depends on the year. Some we have verified: 2012–2018 (with 8-inch touchscreen): 6.5" in the front doors, 6.5" in the rear doors; 2012–2018 (without 8-inch touchscreen): 6.5" in the front doors, 6.5" in the rear doors; 2008–2011: 6x8" in the front doors, 6x8" in the rear doors. Any other spot or year: confirm fit at the shop.

Do I need a new radio or an amp to upgrade the speakers?

Not always. New speakers can run off the factory radio. Some factory premium systems use an amp that needs an interface; we check your trim before you buy.
