Jeep Cherokee speaker upgrade

The Cherokee name covers two very different Jeeps. The old XJ uses 5.25 or 6.5-inch speakers depending on the year, and the 2014 to 2023 KL Cherokee takes 6x9s in the front and rear doors. We have verified sizes for 4 of 4 year ranges or trims in our table; anything not verified says "Confirm fit at the shop".

If the new speaker is a different size or deeper than the factory one, it can need an adapter bracket. We check with your car in front of us before we start.

What size speakers fit the Jeep Cherokee?

It depends on the year. Some we have verified: 2019–2023 (KL): 6x9" in the front doors, 3.5" in the center dash, 6x9" in the rear doors, 3.5" in the rear pillars; 2014–2018 (KL): 6x9" in the front doors, 3.5" in the center dash, 6x9" in the rear doors, 3.5" in the rear pillars; 1997–2001 (XJ): 6.5" in the front doors, 6.5" in the rear pillars. Any other spot or year: confirm fit at the shop.

Do I need a new radio or an amp to upgrade the speakers?

Not always. New speakers can run off the factory radio. Some factory premium systems use an amp that needs an interface; we check your trim before you buy.
