Lexus RX speaker upgrade

The RX is a quiet luxury SUV, so every detail of the sound comes through. From 2004 to 2022 it takes 6x9 speakers in the front doors and 6.5 to 6.75-inch speakers in the rear doors, and the 2000 to 2003 RX 300 takes 6.5 to 6.75-inch speakers front and rear; the newest years still need a check at the shop. We have verified sizes for 7 of 9 year ranges or trims in our table; anything not verified says "Confirm fit at the shop".

If the new speaker is a different size or deeper than the factory one, it can need an adapter bracket. We check with your car in front of us before we start.

What size speakers fit the Lexus RX?

It depends on the year. Some we have verified: 2020–2022: 6x9" in the front doors, 6.5" or 6-3/4" in the rear doors; 2019: 6x9" in the front doors, 6.5" or 6-3/4" in the rear doors; 2016–2018: 6x9" in the front doors, 6.5" or 6-3/4" in the rear doors. Any other spot or year: confirm fit at the shop.

Do I need a new radio or an amp to upgrade the speakers?

Not always. New speakers can run off the factory radio. Some factory premium systems use an amp that needs an interface; we check your trim before you buy.
