Ford Super Duty speaker upgrade

Super Duty owners spend long days in the cab. Trucks through 2016 use 6x8 speakers, and 2017 and newer trucks take 6x9s in the front doors and 6.5-inch speakers in the rear doors. We have verified sizes for 5 of 5 year ranges or trims in our table; anything not verified says "Confirm fit at the shop".

Install notes

  • 2017–2022: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 99-5834CH (4.2in or 8in screen), 95-5869CH (single-zone + color screen), 99-5864CH (XL dual-zone), 95-5850B (2017-2019 XL without color screen).
  • 2005–2016 · without 8-inch screen: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 95-5812 (ISO DDIN): all 2005-2012; 2013-2016 only without 8in screen. Single-DIN 99-5808 (2005-2007)/99-5815.
  • 1999–2004: If you are also swapping the radio: Metra 95-5817 (ISO DDIN; sub-dash trimming required); single-DIN 99-5802/99-5027.

If the new speaker is a different size or deeper than the factory one, it can need an adapter bracket. We check with your car in front of us before we start.

What size speakers fit the Ford Super Duty?

It depends on the year. Some we have verified: 2023–2026: 6x9" in the front doors, 3.5" in the center dash, 6.5" in the rear doors; 2017–2022: 6x9" in the front doors, 6.5" in the rear doors; 2013–2016 (with 8-inch screen): 6x8" in the front doors, 6x8" in the rear doors, 6x8" in the rear side panels. Any other spot or year: confirm fit at the shop.

Do I need a new radio or an amp to upgrade the speakers?

Not always. New speakers can run off the factory radio. Some factory premium systems use an amp that needs an interface; we check your trim before you buy.
