Tesla Model Y window tint is the crossover job in this shop — Tesla window tint Los Angeles with more glass than a 3. Inglewood and Hawthorne Ys, plus Alondra Park cars off the 91, use this bay. Tesla tint installation on a Y: Solar Ceramic doors plus back glass is $349 installed.
Model Y vs Model Y L
A Model Y L is not a Model Y — more glass, about $50 more as a promo. Model Y Solar Ceramic doors + back stays $349; Model Y L doors + back is $399 Solar Ceramic or $599 3M IR Ceramic, two fronts $189 Solar Ceramic / $249 3M IR Ceramic, windshield $189 Solar Ceramic / $299 3M IR Ceramic. Same shop, same films; the simulator above starts on the Y; Change Model switches it to the Y L.
How the install goes on a Y
A Y is not a 3 with extra inches. There is more glass and a bigger back. You book 10:00 AM or 12:00 PM. Nick writes the coverage at the counter — doors and back, windshield, or the whole conversation. Film is cut on a glass board, then applied. We do not cut on your glass. We do not pull a plotter pattern and trim it short so it clears the gasket.
Doors-and-back on a Y is still a 2–3 hour install when we already have the film and the glass is clean. Same-day for doors and back is the normal book. Walk-ins before 4 if the bay is open. Sunday closed. The Y sits higher than a 3; we still walk the shade from the driver’s seat, not from a phone.
The published number — unchanged
Solar Ceramic doors plus back glass is $349 installed. Tesla windshield tint on Solar Ceramic is $189 if you add the windshield or you only want that piece. 3M IR Ceramic on a Y is $549 doors + back, $299 windshield. Two front windows are $189 Solar Ceramic or $249 3M IR Ceramic. Fronts stay California 70% VLT. Those numbers match the homepage and the simulator.
Ceramic versus dyed
A Y cabin cooks from the upright glass. Dyed film will not do what people think it will do in August. Ceramic is non-metal, which is why Tesla owners pick it over a dyed metal stack that can argue with cameras and Autopilot. 3M IR Ceramic is the heat film. Solar Ceramic is the published crossover number. We do not invent an IR percent.
What you see on collection
Nick walks you around the Y. You look at the gasket line on the doors and the back. No seam if we got a clean one-piece. You sit in the cabin. The shade you picked on the fronts should still be legal 70% VLT. If the edge is short, that is a plotter tell — that is not how this bay finishes a Y.
Shade and the second row
A Y is a family car for a lot of the Inglewood and Hawthorne books. People care how the second row looks from the sidewalk and how the cabin feels at 3 p.m. on Avalon. We walk shade from the driver’s seat and from the rear door. California 70% VLT fronts stay light. Darker rears are legal.
Juniper and older Y glass are not the same conversation. Bring the year. If you only want two fronts, that is $189 Solar Ceramic or $249 3M IR Ceramic. If you only want the windshield, that is $189 Solar Ceramic or $299 3M IR Ceramic. Do not send a photo of a friend’s Y and ask us to match it from the phone. Nick will walk a sample on your glass.
