Tesla Model Y L window tint is the bigger-glass Y job in this shop — more glass than a Model Y, same bay, same films. Solar Ceramic doors plus back glass is $399 installed. Film is hand-cut on a glass board, then applied to the glass you drove in.
Model Y L vs Model Y
A Model Y L is not a Model Y. It has more glass than a Model Y. Model Y Solar Ceramic doors plus back stays $349. Model Y L is $399 Solar Ceramic or $599 3M IR Ceramic, two fronts $189 Solar Ceramic / $249 3M IR Ceramic, windshield $189 Solar Ceramic / $299 3M IR Ceramic. Same shop, same board. The simulator above starts on the Y L; Change Model switches it to the regular Y if you want to compare the two.
How the install goes on a Y L
You book 10:00 AM or 12:00 PM. Nick writes the coverage at the counter — doors and back, windshield, or both. Film is cut on a glass board, then applied. We do not cut on your glass. We do not pull a plotter pattern and trim it short so it clears the gasket. The micro edge sits to the gasket.
Walk-ins before 4 if the bay is open. Sunday closed. We walk shade from the driver's seat and from the rear door, not from a phone.
The published number — unchanged
Solar Ceramic doors plus back glass is $399 installed. Windshield Solar Ceramic is $189 as its own line. Full car with windshield Solar Ceramic is $588. 3M IR Ceramic on a Y L is $599 doors plus back, $299 windshield, $898 full car with windshield. Two front windows are $189 Solar Ceramic or $249 3M IR Ceramic. Fronts stay California 70% VLT. Those numbers match the homepage and the simulator above.
Ceramic versus dyed
A Y L cabin has more glass than a Y. More glass means more sun in the cabin in August on Avalon. Dyed film will not carry the heat rejection people want. Ceramic is non-metal, which is why Tesla owners pick it over a dyed metal stack that can argue with cameras and Autopilot. 3M IR Ceramic is the heat film. Solar Ceramic is the published crossover number. We do not invent an IR percent.
What you see on collection
Nick walks you around the Y L. You look at the gasket line on the doors and the back glass. No seam if we got a clean one-piece. You sit in the cabin. The shade you picked on the fronts should still be legal 70% VLT. If the edge is short, that is a plotter tell. That is not how this bay finishes a Y L.
More glass, more cabin
More glass means more sun in the cabin. We walk shade from the driver's seat and from the rear. California 70% VLT fronts stay light. Darker rears are legal.
Bring the year. If you only want two fronts, that is $189 Solar Ceramic or $249 3M IR Ceramic. If you only want the windshield, that is $189 Solar Ceramic or $299 3M IR Ceramic. Do not send a photo of a friend's Y L and ask us to match it from the phone. Nick will walk a sample on your glass.
