Focal is a French speaker maker from Saint-Etienne, known for the yellow K2 aramid cones and the inverted-dome tweeters. Its lines climb from Integration, Auditor and Performance through K2 Power to Utopia M at the top. We carry coaxials that drop into factory openings, component kits with a separate tweeter that can sit in its original spot, flush or on an angled support, and subs from 10 to 12 inches.

Utopia M belongs to Focal's Elite car range. The SUB 10 WM is a 10-inch woofer for a small box, about 4.25 inches deep, aimed at systems that put sound quality first.

Everything on this page is installed here in our Carson bay by our own technicians. Several Focal kits are rated at 2 ohms or use a bi-amp crossover, so we plan the amplifier and the door together instead of guessing. Bring the year, make and model and tell us if the factory radio stays, and a coaxial swap is often done the same day once you call to hold the slot.

Focal questions

How long does a Focal install take?

A coaxial swap is often done the same day once you call to hold the slot. Component kits take longer because the tweeters need a spot in the car, and a Utopia M build with an amplifier or a sub adds bay time. We set the plan and the pickup time when you call.

Will Focal fit my car?

Focal makes 4-inch, 5.25-inch, 5x7, 6.5-inch and 6x9 speakers, and the Integration ICU and ISU speakers are shallow, about 1.9 inches deep, and made for factory openings. The Performance 165AC is about 2.74 inches deep, the slim ES 165 K2S about 2.25 and the SUB 10 WM about 4.25. Text the year, make and model and we tell you what fits.

What comes in the Focal component kits?

The woofers, the separate tweeters and the crossovers. The Elite K2 Power kits let the tweeter sit in its original spot, flush or on an inclined support, and the ES 165 KX2E and KX3E kits include aluminum grilles. We add the harness and mounting hardware your car needs.

Which Focal should I get?

Replacing a factory coaxial? The Auditor RCX-165 or the Performance 165AC. A shallow door? The Integration ISU 165 or ICU 165. More detail up front with an amplifier? The Elite K2 Power ES 165 KX2E, or the KX3E three-way. Want the top line? Utopia M. We walk you through it at the counter.

Do Focal kits need an amplifier?

Plan on one for the K2 Power kits. Some are rated at 2 ohms, like the ES 165 KX2E and ES 165 K2E, and others at 4 ohms, like the ES 165 K2, so we match the amplifier channel to the load. A bi-amp crossover lets one channel run the woofers and another the tweeters. The Integration ISU 165 and Auditor RCX-165 are efficient enough for a factory radio.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. The speakers and the install can both go on a payment plan. Apply online through the Payment plan page, then bring the approval to the counter and we book the bay. The provider decides approval and terms and shows them before you accept.
