Thinkware is a Korean dash cam maker, and its cameras can keep watching after the car is parked. The U3000 line adds radar parking mode, the U1000 and U1000 Plus record 4K at the front with a rear camera, and the Q1000 and Q850 give you 2K front and rear. Choose front only or front and rear, and add the interior infrared camera on the U3000 PRO when you want the cabin on video too.

The U3000 watches the front and the back with low-power radar while the car is parked, and saves a short clip when something moves or hits. Thinkware makes both as front and rear sets; the PRO records the rear in 2K, draws about 10 percent less power in parking mode and takes an optional LTE module for alerts and remote view.

How we fit Thinkware
Parking mode is where the install matters. Thinkware cameras need a hardwiring cable or an OBD-II power cable to keep recording with the engine off, so we run the power to the fuse box and tuck the cables behind the trim so nothing hangs in view. Everything on this page is installed here in Carson by our own technicians, most often the same day once you call to hold the slot.

Thinkware questions
How long does a Thinkware dash cam install take?
Most cars are done the same day once you call to hold the slot. A front camera is the quicker job. A front and rear setup takes longer because the rear cable runs through the headliner and trim. We hardwire to the fuse box for parking mode and confirm the plan when you call.
Will a Thinkware dash cam work in my car?
Thinkware cameras stick to the windshield with a mount, so the fit question is mostly the wiring. Thinkware sells the camera with either a hardwiring cable or an OBD-II power cable, and we choose the one that suits your car. Text the year, make and model and we tell you what the install involves.
What comes with the U3000 PRO?
The front camera, a 64GB microSD card, a mount for the glass, cable holders, a CPL filter, extra mounting tape, a heat-blocking film and a hardwiring cable. Front and rear bundles add the rear camera on a 7.5 meter cable, with either an OBD-II or a hardwiring cable. We install it all.
Which Thinkware should I get?
Want radar parking mode and a 2K rear camera? The U3000 PRO. Want 4K at the front with a rear camera? The U1000 or U1000 Plus. Want 2K front and rear? The Q1000 or Q850. Text what you drive and how you park, and we point you to one.
Does the U3000 need an LTE module for remote view?
Only for the cloud features. Recording, parking mode and Wi-Fi playback on your phone work without it. The U3000 PRO takes Thinkware's optional LTE module for alerts and remote view in the CONNECTED app, which runs on a Thinkware plan. The U3000 itself does not take the module, and the LTE module and the cabin camera cannot run together.
Is there a payment plan?
Yes. The camera and the install can both go on a payment plan. Apply online through the Payment plan page, then bring the approval to the counter and we book the bay. The provider decides approval and terms and shows them before you accept.
