Kenwood questions

How long does a Kenwood install take?

Most receivers go in the same day once you call to hold the slot. Drop the car in the morning and drive it home that afternoon. Adding amps, a camera or a floating screen takes more bay time, and so does a car with a factory amp or steering wheel controls to keep, so we confirm the plan when you call.

Will a Kenwood receiver fit my car?

Most cars and trucks take a single-DIN or double-DIN receiver with the right dash kit and harness. A floating screen like the DMX1058XR sits in front of the dash, so we check your vents and shifter first. Text the year, make and model and we tell you which Kenwood fits before you drive in.

What is the difference between Kenwood and eXcelon?

eXcelon is the step-up line, built for amplified systems. Its receivers send a stronger 5-volt preamp signal to outboard amps, and models such as the DMX809S and DMX1057XR add crossover modes. Reference is the top tier of eXcelon. Standard Kenwood decks cover the everyday upgrade with CarPlay, Bluetooth and a camera input, on lower-voltage preamps.

Which Kenwood should I get?

Want a big screen and amps later? The DMX1058XR or DMX1057XR. Wireless CarPlay in a regular double-DIN dash? The DMX5710S, or the eXcelon DMX809S if amps are coming. Wired CarPlay for a simple swap? The DMX4710S. Single-DIN with Bluetooth? The KMM-BT332U or the eXcelon KMM-X705.

Do you install Kenwood dash cams and backup cameras?

Yes. The DRV-A310W, DRV-A510WDP and DRV-A610WDP dash cams and the CMOS backup cameras are on our list, and we wire them in with a receiver or on their own. The HD CMOS-740HDLP camera works only with select Kenwood receivers, so we check yours before we order it.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. The parts and the install can both go on a payment plan. Apply online through the Payment plan page, then bring the approval to the counter and we book the bay. The provider decides approval and terms and shows them before you accept.
