Sony 8.95-inch floating screen with CarPlay and Android Auto on a single-DIN chassis.
The Sony XAV-AX8100 is a media receiver with an 8.95-inch touchscreen that floats in front of the dash on a single-DIN chassis, so it can go into cars with either a single-DIN or double-DIN opening. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Bluetooth covers hands-free calls and streaming. The screen mount adjusts to suit the dash, and a rear camera input is included. Like any floating screen, fit depends on the shape of the dash and where the vents and controls sit, so the shop checks the car before quoting. Text us with your year, make and model.
Pickup is at the Carson shop. Call to confirm it is on the wall before you drive.
Car stereo installation in Carson
Same-day stereo installation
We install the Sony XAV-AX8100 8.95-inch Floating Screen Receiver in our Carson bay, usually the same day: car stereo installation with the wiring, the mounting and a test before you leave. Text us the year, make and model for an installation quote, or call.
Floating-Screen Car Stereos Compared: Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC, Sony and StingerPick a 9-inch floating screen like the Pioneer DMH-WT5000NEX, JVC KW-Z900W when you want a bigger screen than a double-DIN and your dash has room for it. Pick a 10.1-inch screen like the Kenwood DMX1037S, JVC KW-Z1001W or Pioneer DMH-WT6000NEX for the biggest view in most trucks and cars, and the Kenwood Excelon Reference DMX1057XR or DMX1058XR when tuning control matters as much as the screen. Fit depends on your dash, so the shop checks the car first.
Backup Camera Guide: Kenwood Cameras and the Receivers with Camera Inputs We CarryFor most cars, the simple setup is a receiver with a camera input plus the Kenwood CMOS-230LP1, which Kenwood lists as working with most aftermarket receivers that have a camera input. For a sharper picture, the Kenwood CMOS-740HDLP shoots 1280 x 720 HD, but it connects through HD-TVI and works only with select Kenwood receivers that support HD cameras. If you also want a front or side camera, pick a receiver with more than one camera input, like the JVC KW-M875BW, Kenwood DMX958XR
