ExoticsSeason 3: a car sound system shop for exotics
Three visits from one Ferrari F430, a Lamborghini built during SEMA week and two Maseratis. If you searched carplay installation near me with an exotic in the garage, this car audio shop has done it.
Short answer
A car sound system shop for exotic cars
Yes, a car sound system shop can work on exotics without changing how they look. Season 3 follows a Ferrari F430 that came back three times, a Lamborghini built during SEMA week and two Maseratis, each with CarPlay, speakers or a custom dash kit installed in our bay.
Serving Los Angeles, South Bay, Orange County and Long Beach.
What gets installed?
Speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers and stereos, chosen for each car and installed in our own bay. Each episode below is one real job, with its video.
How is it done?
We look at the vehicle and talk through what you want.
We show you the plan and the price before any work starts.
We install it in our own bay, with clean wiring and the factory panels put back the way they came off.
We test and tune everything with you before you leave.
How much does it cost?
Every sound system is quoted for your vehicle, because every build is different. Call or text for a quote.
How can I pay?
Customers have payment plan options. Many customers get approved with Snap, and customers also use Synchrony. Not everyone is approved, so ask about it when you book.
A supercar should have a modern dash. I want CarPlay.
Short answer: Can an older Ferrari get Apple CarPlay? Yes. This F430 kept its looks: the factory head unit came out without cutting anything that cannot go back, and a Pioneer CarPlay screen fits the dash. Maps, music and calls are on the screen with your hands on the wheel. Carplay installation like this is a regular job here.
Great engine. Old-school radio. Not anymore.
Top down, CarPlay in.

The Ferrari comes back for sound
The stock speakers can't keep up with this car.
Short answer: Do exotic cars need an amplifier? Usually, if you want the sound to keep up with the car. On this F430 the stock speakers came out and Hertz speakers went in, with an amplifier giving them clean power. We test and tune before the panels go back on, so nothing rattles at speed.

Bigger screen, same Ferrari
I want a bigger screen, but slim.
Short answer: Can I get a bigger screen but keep a slim dash? Yes. This F430 got a 7-inch Pioneer screen that folds out, then tucks away slim. It has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with Siri on the wheel, and the backup camera he already had works with the new unit. A car sound system shop should keep what works.

A Lambo built during SEMA week
Better sound, a modern screen and a backup camera.
Short answer: Can a Lamborghini Gallardo get better sound and a camera? Yes, even during SEMA week. This LP570 got new speakers and an amp for open-top sound, a modern screen and a backup camera for a car you really cannot see out of. Every panel goes back the way it came out.
Before: the factory screen.
After: CarPlay in the factory opening.

Base Levante, real bass
The base system in my Maserati sounds flat.
Short answer: Can a base Maserati Levante get real bass and keep the factory screen? Yes. We tapped the signal with high-to-low adapters, so the screen stays. One 5-channel amp powers the speakers and a subwoofer, which adds the bass the base system skipped. Same dash, a much fuller sound.
Looks luxury. Now it sounds it.

No dash kit? We build one
A long-time friend of the shop wanted audio, video and a camera.
Short answer: What if no dash kit is made for your car? We build one. This Maserati GranTurismo had no dash kit, so we made the mount ourselves and wired the steering wheel controls with no diagram, just experience. Every speaker and tweeter was upgraded, and the factory subs and center were kept.
Tiny amps for tight spaces.
No kit made for this car. So we built one.

Questions?
QCan my older Ferrari get CarPlay?
Usually yes. Text us your year and model with a photo of the dash.
QDo I need an amp in an exotic?
For real volume over engine and wind noise, usually yes.
QCan I keep my factory screen or backup camera?
Often yes. The Levante kept its screen and the F430 kept its camera.
QWhat if no dash kit exists for my car?
We can build one, like we did on the GranTurismo.
QHow much?
Quoted for your vehicle. Stereo install labor starts at $150 an hour, and most installs take 2 to 3 hours.
QDo you have a payment plan?
Customers have payment plan options. Many customers get approved with Snap, and customers also use Synchrony. Not everyone is approved, so ask about it when you book.
