How we fit DB Drive

Everything here is installed in our Carson bay by our own technicians. Big amps pull a lot of current, so we look at the power wire, the fuse, the ground and the charging system before we pick one. Most installs are done the same day once you call to hold the slot, and for a larger competition build we give you the pickup time when you call.

DB Drive questions

How long does a DB Drive amp install take?

One amp with a wiring kit is usually done the same day once you call to hold the slot. For a big G7 monoblock we set the plan and the pickup time when you call.

Will a DB Drive amp work with my factory radio?

The G7 and WDX amps list low-level RCA inputs, so a factory radio needs a line output converter to feed them. We add the converter and tap the speaker wires. Text the year, make and model and we tell you what your radio needs before you drive in.

What is the difference between G7 and WDX?

G7 is the competition-grade series. Its monoblocks run from 1,250 to 5,000 watts and can link two amps with Drive-Link, and its four-channel amps have a variable crossover. WDX is the wider range, with mono, four-channel and five-channel amps and a remote level control on several models. Tell us your subs and your goal and we pick a series.

Which DB Drive amp matches my subwoofers?

Match the amp's watts at your final impedance to the sub's RMS rating. Two subs rated 1,000 watts RMS combined and wired to 2 ohms fit the WDX2000.1, which makes 1,000 watts at 2 ohms. Subs rated 1,250 watts RMS combined at 2 ohms fit the G7 2500.1. Text us the sub model and we do the math.

Does a big amp like the G7 5000.1 need electrical upgrades?

Often, yes. A 5,000 watt amp pulls a lot of current, and the G7 5000.1 takes dual 0 gauge power wire. We check the power wire, the fuse, the ground, the battery and the alternator before we sell an amp that size, and we tell you what your car needs.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. The amp, the wiring and the install can both go on a payment plan. Apply online through the Payment plan page, then bring the approval to the counter and we book the bay. The provider decides approval and terms and shows them before you accept.
